HARRISON ATTACKED
@Monday, January 3, 2000 - 01:40:49

George Harrison is in hospital after being stabbed in the chest by an intruder at his home.
The 56-year-old ex-Beatle and his wife Olivia tackled an intruder after being woken by the sound of broken glass at their Henley-On-Thames mansion .A man, believed to be a 33-year-old from Liverpool, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. It is thought the couple managed to detain the man until police arrived.
Police believe the attack was deliberate rather than a burglary gone wrong. It comes almost exactly 19 years after John Lennon was shot dead outside his home in New York. Hospital reports state that although the blade pierced George Harrison‘s chest it missed all major organs and his life was never in danger.

Van Halen Vocalist Shorten!
@Wednesday, December 22, 1999 - 20:17:50

Van Halen Vocalist
The odds on a new Van Halen vocalist shorten! There is a link to a recent interview with David Coverdale, in which he says he has been approached and talks still continue.
Interesting development and a pairing we would love to see - Coverdale meanwhile has finished his new blues hard rock solo album in LA and will release it in the new year. One of the other contenders Sammy Hagar seems to have ruled himself out, detailing his new year plans on his website - redrocker.com. That leaves good 'ol David Lee Roth. This is by all reports the record companies preferred option and from what we have been told, a great deal is being done to persuade the band to take this option.
